About Notices:

From time to time, the Plymouth Police Department may post notices on this page with helpful information for our citizen's and visitors. These notices may include changes in traffic patterns, road closures, and parking restrictions during major events as well as other information useful to our citizen's such as actions you should take and shelter locations during storms. Your comments and suggestions are appreciated.

July 3rd and 4th 2015 Parking and Traffic Restrictions

Friday July 3rd, 2015

Traffic on Taylor Avenue will be blocked to all traffic with the exception of residents between White Horse Rd. and Rocky Hill Rd. to Taylor Ave at Manomet Point Road beginning at 6:00 PM and remained closed as deemed necessary.

All side streets that lead to the Priscilla Beach area will also be closed to all traffic with the exception of residents also beginning at 6:00 PM.

There will be NO PARKING along both sides of Manomet Point Road, Highland Terrace, White Horse Beach Rd., Manomet Ave, Old Beach Rd, and Rocky Hill Rd. between White Horse Beach Rd. and Power House Lane all day long on July 3rd, 2011

There will also be NO Parking on both sides of the following side streets: Brian’s Way, Lopresti Rd, Vine Brook Rd., Cary Rd., Fair Oaks Rd., Arboretum Rd., Emerson Field, Saint Catherine’s Chapel, Second Church, Beaver Dam Rd. from State Rd. to Patriot’s Circle, as well as the Manomet Elementary school.

There will be additional Parking Restrictions on Melix Avenue, Cape Cod Avenue, and Reed Avenue.

Saturday July 4th, 2015

There will be NO PARKING on Water St. between Union St. and Brewster St., the west side of Water St. between Brewster St. and Park Ave., Carver St, Market St, and Summer St. from Market St. to Westerly Road all day long beginning at 5:00 AM

Water St. will close between Union and Brewster Streets beginning at 6:00 AM and will remain closed until the conclusion of the Fireworks. Fireworks will begin at approximately 9:30 PM.

Beginning at 6:00 AM there will be NO PARKING on both sides of Court St. from North St. to Allerton St., all of Main St. and Main St. Ext. There will be NO Parking on the east side of Sandwich St. from Water St. to Mt. Pleasant.

There will be NO PARKING all day on Morton Park Rd. and Thoreau Rd.

Road Race

There will be a July 4th 5K Road Race this year which will precede the Parade. Runners will leave from the area of Court St. and Hedge Road starting at 8:15 AM. The route will mirror that of the parade but will continue down Sandwich St. to Stephen’s Field continuing to union St. then Water St. to the finish.

Parade Traffic

The parade will step off from Mayflower Executive Park beginning at 9:15 AM. It will proceed south on Court St. to the Downtown area along Main St. and Main St. Ext. turning left onto Water St. where the parade will disperse. There will be additional parking restrictions along Court St. in North Plymouth during the parade.

Fireworks Traffic

Fireworks traffic through the downtown and waterfront area will be in the following manner:

Rte 3 off ramps will be closed off at start of Fireworks

Following the Fireworks:

All Rte 44 traffic between Court St and Rte 3will be diverted westbound ONLY – Eastbound traffic will be diverted onto Rte 3 southbound.

All Summer St Traffic will be diverted westbound – All eastbound traffic on Summer St. will be diverted at Pilgrim Hill Rd.

All Sandwich St. traffic from Water St. south will be diverted southbound to Jabeez Corner.

All traffic on Main St Ext/Main St/Court St between Sandwich and Samoset St. will be diverted northbound.

All Water St. traffic will be diverted up Brewster St, Chilton St and Park Ave to Court St.

All State Boat Ramp traffic will be diverted north on Water St.

Skateboarders, Rollerbladers, and Bicycles will not be tolerated in the downtown area for pedestrian safety reasons.
