Traffic and Street Closures for Thanksgiving Day

Pilgrim’s Progress

Pilgrim’s Progress will begin at 10:00 AM leaving the Mayflower Society House and follow the traditional route with one Police Cruiser in the front of the procession and one Police Cruiser at the rear of the procession.

There will be no street closings for this event.

National Day of Mourning

Participants will form at the top of Cole’s Hill beginning at noon.  The march will begin at approximately 1:30 PM proceeding up Leyden St. turning right onto Main St. where it will turn down Brewster St. then right on Water St. to Plymouth Rock where there will be a brief rally.

The march will continue back up Leyden St. to the Old Post Office Square (Town Square) where there will be another brief rally at the Metacomet historical marker.  The march will terminate at this point

Road Closures will be at the following locations to be implemented starting at 1:00 PM.

Court St. @ Russell St. – Preventing southbound traffic on Court St.

Water St. @ Chilton St. – Preventing southbound traffic on Water St.

Summer St. @ Market St. – Preventing traffic into Town Square

Main St. Ext. @ Market St. – Preventing traffic northbound on Main St. Ext.

Water St. @ Union St. – Preventing traffic northbound on Water St.
