Traffic and Street Closures for Thanksgiving Day

Pilgrim’s Progress
Pilgrim’s Progress will begin at 10:00 AM leaving the Mayflower Society House and follow the traditional route from North Street to Water Street. Proceeding up Leyden Street to Burial Hill and returning the Mayflower Society House via School Street, Court Street, and North Street.

There will be no street closings for this event.

National Day of Mourning
Participants will form at the top of Cole’s Hill beginning at noon. The march will begin at approximately 1:30 PM proceeding up Leyden Street to the Old Post Office Square (Town Square) where there will be another brief rally at the Metacomet historical marker.

Participants will then march north onto Main Street, to Brewster Street, to Water Street, ending at Plymouth Rock where there will be a brief rally. The march will terminate at this location.

Road Closures will be at the following locations to be implemented starting at approximately 1:30 PM when the march begins.

Court Street @ Russell Street – Preventing southbound traffic on Court Street

Water Street @ Chilton Street – Preventing southbound traffic on Water Street

Water Street @ Brewster Street – Preventing southbound traffic on Water Street
*This will not be implemented until after the march passes by this location*

Summer Street @ Market Street – Preventing traffic into Town Square
Main Street Ext. @ Market Street – Preventing traffic northbound on Main Street Ext.
Water Street @ Union Street – Preventing traffic northbound on Water Street
North Street @ Carver and Winslow Streets – Preventing traffic to Water Street
